 In Chapter 6: Building Your Connected Learning Community, it talks about the importance of implementing a learning community. For both professional and student enhancement in learning outcomes. It talks about networks in the digital world and that being a part of a learning community helps to better understand collaboration and knowledge. Educators can also collaborate with other educators on understanding these topic as well. 

Learning communities can also help educators with implementing solutions to issues they may have.  Collaboration is helpful when it comes to ones ideas and concepts and sharing those with others as well. It also highlights different types of learning communities like face to face, virtual, formal, and informal communities. It also describes social media being an important part for creating connections in these communities. There are also important roles in building your community. 


This pertains to my major in business because it talks about how important creating connections is within collaborations and exploring development in an organization or a project. Social media platforms are also crucial when it comes to businesses engaging with others. Also different departments in business can come together and collaborate on different projects too. These are all helpful things when it comes to business and creating useful connections with others.

  1. While it might be easier if when you work on your own and create and execute your own ideas, collaboration is very useful in different communities indeed. You can gain so many different ideas and insights from different people in different backgrounds.
